a breath of kindness

This photo I took when we were in Colorado celebrating after Jim’s first cancer was declared gone forever! It had been a grueling ordeal and we were so happy to see it end. There were lots of trails to hike, but we kept to the one with very little climbing. It took a year for him to feel himself again.

I just love this quote. It sums up a life lived with love and understanding.

“Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort, of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.”
George Elliot (Mary Ann Evans)
